Yesterday was a beautiful day with no cloud in the sky and ninety degree weather (in the afternoon). What a wonderful day to enjoy the outdoors!

Since Dad went to school, Mom and I decided we would go to
Picnic Day at a local University. It is basically an open house for the college as a way to attract future students/parents, get the current students involved, and an excuse for alumni to get together. Overall, it was a lot of fun with tons to see and do. There was a petting zoo, in which I became a part of. The parents kept reminding the children to pet the animals inside the fence instead of me.

These cows were about as amused as I was. But, laying around was better than having to work on a Saturday. These border collies herded sheep all day long into this catch pen. I, too, tried to run after the sheep, but Mom would not let me.

These dogs were practicing jumping over these hurdles. I was not too impressed because I could definitely clear those hurdles without a problem. However, I was impressed that they would run up this machine and press a button for a tennis ball and then bring the ball back to their owner. That I will not do.

These border collies were lots of fun to watch and quick too. So fast that Mom could not take the picture fast enough. They would jump up and catch
Frisbees in the air and were pretty accurate for the most part.

These terriers reminded me of my
lure coursing days as they raced to catch the artificial lure. I, too, tried to catch the squirrel-like thing as it passed me, which is why is picture is blurry. Sorry, old habits die hard.

We saw lots of dogs, some
competing and some observing. I know that this one was embarrassed to wear this muzzle after running his race.

But, not as embarrassed as this little girl, whose owners painted her eyebrows for the
occasion. I hope that this did not give Mom any ideas!

There were lots of kids there too, which are always fun to watch. I wish that Harrison could have came. He is not quite old enough to slide down the hill of snow but he sure would enjoy eating it.

Also, there were tons of Dachshunds because they had races too. We were not able to see them because it was a building and there were long lines. I wonder if Lauren's mom's dogs, Stormy and Elvis, have ever raced - maybe to get to the hot dog or cupcake first.

The heat, the walking and all of the festivities wore me out.

I bet not many dogs can sleep comfortably with their hind legs under their noses. That can be my talent.
Sony,

Sony,
I bought a picture of one of your relatives
for my bird room. This dog has black spots. Regina's parrot barks at the picture and calls it my grandsons dog (Bagel). Have you considered putting all you have written with the pictures in a children's book?
