Yesterday, Mom rushed in from work and the next thing I know, I was in the car. She was telling me to be on my best behavior because we were going to the local farmer's market. Since I had been to a farmer's market before, I thought "What's the big deal?". Then I could see these big blow up things with kids bouncing inside, smell sausage cooking and hear the live bands playing.

Vendors were set up along the side of the road selling everything from jewelry to
tye dyed T-shirts to fruits and vegetables. Lots of fresh corn, peaches, and green beans.

Of course Mom spent some time looking at the fresh cut flowers, in awe of the prices ranging from $5 to $10 for the arrangements in each of these black containers!

Mom bought some fresh tomatoes for tomato sandwiches.

This
kettle corn was purchased too. The one little piece that I tasted that Mom
accidentally dropped was delicious - a perfect mixture of sweet and salty.

Mom has been wanting some figs after talking with one of her friends and Great Granddaddy who has fig trees, but these were a different kind. Although they are pretty, she complained that the skin was a little too tough and the figs were overripe. Hopefully, she will have better luck next time.

She also bought some local honey. This little bear was too cute not to snuggle up with.

Well, I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
