Day 2 of San Diego

Mom, Dad, Aunt Allison, Uncle Mark, Harrison, Grandmother and W.H. went to La Jolla Beach on Sunday morning, following the suggestion of a cashier at a local grocery store. According to Mom, all of the locals were very friendly, suggesting things to see and do during their stay in San Diego.

Unfortunately, David Hasseloff and Pamela Anderson were off this day. No life guard on duty so swim on your own risk.
This beach was supposed to be a swimming area for children but the California Harbor seals basically moved in, polluting the water. This did not stop Harrison and Aunt Allison from enjoying the view of the beautiful oceans.

Here are more seals basking in the sun. I think that they are the laziest animal I have ever seen, and this is coming from someone who sleeps most of the day.

Everyone enjoyed watching these little chipmunks on the coast scurrying around. They live on the side of the cliffs, sharing the area with lots of birds, which Grandmother wasn't too fond of.

After seeing the beach, everyone went to see a famous hotel called Hotel del Coronado. Since they could not afford to stay there at $300 per night, they thought that they could at least just enjoy looking around. The Del was built in 1888 and is one of the top ten resorts in the world according to USA Today.

Uncle Mark and Aunt Allison looking as if they fit right in this prestigious resort.

The lobby was just as pretty as the grounds.

Harrison was more interested in eating than looking around the resort's courtyard and W.H. is always looking for the shade.

You know Mom enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful flowers. This "tree" behind Mom and Aunt Allison is bougainvillea, which was in full bloom all over San Diego.

Here's everyone, minus Grandmother (because she is the one who took the picture), standing in front of a dragon tree.

That afternoon, Dad, W.H., and Uncle Mark went to see the San Diego Padres play the Oakland A's. The girls and Harrison went out to lunch at a quaint cafe. Grandmother loves to get Mom and Aunt Allison all to herself, and Harrison is always welcome to tag along.
