Day 3 - San Diego Zoo

Mom and Dad have both told me about how much fun everyone had at the zoo, which was Dad's favorite day. Thanks to Mom's co-workers in Woodland, they rode the bus first to get an idea of where all of the animals were located because this world's famous zoo is HUGE, so I am told.

Harrison was excited to see all of the animals.

So were W. H. and Grandmother

Aunt Allison couldn't contain her excitement on the zoo's escalator. I told you that this is a big zoo. It also has a sky tram to take you across the park.

Too bad Harrison had a take a nap and missed the elephant's getting a bath with the use of a water hose by the zookeeper.

Don't worry. Between Uncle Mark and Mom, lots of pictures were taken.
(Believe me, I have had to sort through them all as I am blogging about their trip.)

Here's a hippo, up close and personal.

They also were able to see a polar bear, swimming in and above the water.

It is amazing how graceful this large animal is swimming.

This is my favorite picture. The endangered Spectacled bear is snuggling with a burlap sac. Although he looks cute and cuddly, check out those claws!

Mom loved the Panda Bears. Did you know that there is a person at the panda bear area on a microphone discussing what all the panda has done that day? For example, the day that Mom and Dad visited, he just woke up from a 20 minute nap. How would you like that job?

They spent lots of time with the adorable koala bears, who sleep 20 hours per day.

Harrison thought that the koala bear looked so comfortable curled up, he thought that he would try it out.

Although Harrison did nap some throughout the day at the zoo, this is the face that everyone saw most often. Look at that dimple and all of those teeth!

From what I hear, everyone had a good time at the world famous San Diego Zoo.

  1. Sony girl. Looks like everyone had a good time at the zoo.I liked the picture of your human cousin Harrison with the big hat on smilling and showing his dimples. I think he looks like Mark and W.H. What do you think? Love you all, Mamaw

  2. Sony-girl, I heard some wonderful news today. Some airline has a animal plane. It does not carry humans only animals. They put you in your cage, in airconditioning, you stay in your cage and they give you water and a treat every fifteen minutes. The only trouble it does not come south yet. When it does I will send you a ticket to come see me. Love you, Mamaw
